Sun Valley Int'l Film Festival Preview

Films from around the world are coming to Sun Valley. This year’s Sun Valley Spiritual Film Festival features twenty-seven films from Denmark, Germany, Turkey, Macedonia, Canada, the US and several other countries.
As the festival title states, each film is focused on some aspect of spirituality. Holland’s “Buddha’s Lost Children” follows the life of a former Thai boxer turned Buddhist Monk whose purpose is to better the lives of children. In “The Cats of Mirikitani,” director Linda Hattendorf befriends an 80 year-old Hiroshima survivor who channel’s his spirit through art. And those are just two of the varied examples.

Bust a Move

The ski season is just around the corner, which means it’s time to get off your summer barbeque butt and get it into ski shape. No matter your choice of snow sport, snowboarding, downhill or Nordic skiing, you have got to train to survive the season.

The Wit of the West

The tradition of old west story telling lives today in the form of cowboy poetry. This style of poetry is derived from back in the day when cattle drivers and ranchers of the old west would gather around the fire and tell tall tales and sing folk songs. Today, it has developed into an award worthy art form.
