Although she grew up in a small town in Western Appalachia and has lived in Ketchum for over thirty years, Anne Reed Gallery Owner, Barbi Reed, is no small town girl.
At the age of seventeen, she ventured to Panama for a three-month stint living in the interior, walking through fields of hissing iguanas and sleeping on a bed covered with cockroaches. While the experience discouraged Reed from joining the Peace Corps, it did not keep her from traveling. For years she has taken her curiousity and her camera to over 40 countries all over the world, from Haiti to Tibet to Africa.
Plum had the chance to sit down with Reed for an up-close and personal interview. What we found was an extraordinary woman full of passion for her gallery as well as her own photography, travel, children and photographing for non-profits in developing countries.
