Sun Valley Adaptive Sports (SVAS) and Atkinsons’ summer kids camp teamed up to tackle Titus Lake, a three-mile round-trip climb just below Galena Summit.
The kids frolicked in the alpine lake water, relaxed in the grass, and proved everyone can be active and have fun in the Wood River Valley.
Each summer, SVAS offers PACK, a twelve-week program for the young adults who have disabilities. Kids play sports like tennis, learn crafts like pottery, take long hikes like Titus Lake and share daily activities with able-bodied peers. In addition to building self-confidence, self-esteem and skills through recreation, SVAS programs also increase public awareness of the capabilities of people with disabilities.
Check out the smiles on these kids’ faces: SVAS is onto something good.
