Elementary Science Instructor Bob Polk learned about wildlife management and ecology while spending time at an African bush camp. On his excursion, Polk witnessed the difficulties and rewards of wildlife stewardship in 21st century Africa. Beverly McNeal, on the other hand, took time off from instructing fifth grade to study cultures in the Ausangate and Salcantay regions of Peru, focusing on the high-mountain villages of the Apus, Incas and Quechuas.
Together, Joe Vilinksy and Nancy Parsons-Brown led a two-week teachers’ seminar in Port-au-Prince, Haiti. Their focus was to bring modern teaching methods to the volunteer teachers in the area. While many faculty members chose to travel, Upper and Middle School Art Instructor, Toni Whittington, focused on art. Recent works in clay, woodblock, encaustic and mixed media, among other mediums, will be on exhibit in the gym foyer.
Join TCS faculty and community members on the 23rd to hear all of these teachers present their amazing stories and enjoy wine and hors d’oeuvres.
