Picture: Skate skiers bust a move in last year's Boulder Mountain Tour.
It’s the first weekend of the shortest month of the year. But just because there are fewer days in February (29 this leap year to be exact) doesn’t mean there are fewer events. In fact, there may be even more.
Thursday
End January with a bang. Start your night off swanky with martinis at
Cavallino. We recommend the Gin Gin Mule or anything with tequila in it. Then, head to Sun Valley for music by the
Paul Tillotson Trio. Have a drink or two while you listen to snazzy, jazzy sounds at the
Duchin Lounge.
Friday
Kick off the weekend with an
Avalanche Transceiver Clinic from 1-2:30 pm on Sun Valley Road. Then, enjoy an evening with the family at the Liberty Theatre in Hailey where musician
Jose-Luis Orozco will perform. For the older crowd, enjoy another night of Sun Valley’s winter comedy series.
Ken and Brady’s One Man Show will make you laugh until it hurts at the Boiler Room.
Saturday
It’s a big day for athletes in the Wood River Valley. The one and only
Boulder Mountain Tour begins at 10 am at
Galena Lodge. Pull on your spandex and Nordic skis and take the plunge, or bundle up to cheer on your peers. If you’re looking for more outdoor action, check at the
Sun Valley Telemark Race Series, an Idaho original. End your day by the fire at Papa Hemi’s Hideaway where local band,
Public Radio, will rock your world.
Sunday
It’s Super Bowl Sunday! What better way to spend the day recuperating from the weekend than on the couch and in front of the tele. Better yet, pay a mere $20 for all you can eat food and all you can drink beer at
Whiskey Jacques. Then pray for a snow day on Monday.
