Picture: Avalanche warning signs dot the residential areas of Warm Springs Road.
After one day of clear blue skies, the snow is back. Another winter storm has descended upon Sun Valley and it is expected to drop up to 10” of snow around Ketchum and 10-14” in the mountains. As of this afternoon, the avalanche danger has been increased to high. The Hillside, Huffman and Sage areas of Warm Springs are closed to local traffic only, and there is no foot traffic or service workers allowed. Friedman Airport in Hailey is closed; check back for any updates.
On the mountain, all lifts are running today except for Flying Squirrel. There is a heavy snow warning in effect and visibility is poor, so make sure to ski with caution, avoid out of bounds areas, and don’t ski alone.
